Bugs on the Bayou is the brainchild of Kusten Kreuzers of the Emerald Coast, an air cooled Volkswagen club in Okaloosa County Florida.  The City of Niceville and Eglin AFB were kind enough to allow us the use of the Mullet Fest grounds for our annual car show.  This means that we have plenty of room to grow this show to become the largest VW show in the region.  Plan your vacation around this event because we are located just minutes from the most beautiful beaches in the world!

Proceeds from this event will be donated to Wayne Hall Walks.

Just giving event a bump.  PepeSpeed is hoping to swing by along with Bob G.  Hoping locals Jim A and Mark T also show.  By coincidence we all met up last year.  Some interesting VW show up.  The Boggy Bayou Mullet Fest grounds are a great southern venu.  Not sure that they fry up the Mullet for this one though. If you are near by and need directions/info - just let me know.

There is another car show at same place on 9 Sep. Other plastic cars like Corvette will be there! Plus Ford Model A and T.

EMERALD COAST CAR SHOW

Saturday, Sept. 9 - 8 a.m Boggy Bayou Mullet festival site

The Emerald Coast Car Show is celebrating its 25th anniversary year on Sept. 9 at the Boggy Bayou Mullet festival site, also known as the Twin Oaks Soccer Complex in Niceville. There are motorhome hook ups for those who come from out of town and travel with their vehicles.

This year, two long-standing local clubs host the car show, The Northwest Florida Model A&T Club and Playground Corvette Club. Proceeds are given to local charities through each respective club.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. Sept. 9 and trophies for first, second and third place in 41 categories will start at 4 p.m. Preregistration has ended.

Special categories include the Deb Whitley Best Paint, Rodney Griffith Club Participation, Harry Harrell Best Engine, Mayor Bruce Arnold Best of Show, Justin Rothe Best Interior and the Niceville City Managers Choice. There is also a $100 cash award, in addition to the trophy for “Best of Show.”

Hibbs says this show has had as many as 350 registered vehicles and he expects anywhere from 250-plus to attend this year.

There is no charge to spectators and there is ample parking available. Entrance is on State Road 85 North and will be marked.

For more information, visit www.emeraldcoastcarshow.com or call Roger Hibbs at (850) 585-1806.
