Back at ya @Jim Anderson, hope to see that car on the road sooner than later. I am just waiting for the claims adjuster to get to Carey's shop to start work on the hood. Subaru is sending someone to look at the engine to see what failed. I am hoping to get it back mid month.  @Stan Galat I am going to take you up on nice Sunday cruise, or whatever day works for you this summer/fall.

@Joe Fortino... not intending to high jack this post, but ditto on Bruce's comment... What happened to your motor?  I know you left before Rich and I.  We didn't get home till 10PM.  Let me know if the adjuster needs a witness to the heinous crime committed outside the pizzeria.

I hit the road at 6:15 and was making great time,  I hit a bit of rain in Ohio and even lost both wiper blades. I got through it by stopping for gas and I was still on target to arrive home by 3:45 central. Once I entered Ohio all things went south on me. My engine stated to loose power so I put her to neutral immediately and got to the shoulder of 80/90 and it just died. No smoke no lights nothing. It took quite a few phone calls to get everything worked out but my car is in Bremen waiting to have the motor taken apart to see what happened. My wife really is a saint as she made the 3.5 hour trek to pick me up and we ended up walking in the door at 8:30 pm. We are waiting for someone from Subaru to get to the shop prior to them tearing it down.

I would be interested in joining the get together.Still waiting on my car from Henry, but hope it will be here by end of June.

SMART move putting the ROADSTER SEATS in your "S"....my SPEEDSTER seats, despite the extra cushioning AND looking COOL, are NOT TUSH friendly. Your ROAD seats look comfy like a cloud and I'm thinking about a pillow(LOL).

Best of luck with new IM...a magnificent machine....SAFE!

Well, maybe it's not the seats that is the problem.  My speedster seats have carried us close to 10,000 miles so far, with never a complaint from either one of us.  IM276

The wheel was made by Mike Lempert.   http://www.pbase.com/mdlempert/wheels

He does a very good job on these, with a lot of choice as to what you want.

Yes got the sickness ended up going to the doctor in Pennsylvania. Hopefully he'll ship my medication to me next week and will get some cure going on!  Looking forward to getting some of the madness!  Will let you all know when the car is delivered. Would love to join you in July I'm in Yorkville for anybody who is close to the area even if you're just out and about please get a hold of me I'd love to Check-out your cars.  630 - 675-7271. Paul

OK,

I'm pretty sure we've got more than a quorum here. The way I count it, we've got:

  1. Veirbieten (I'm lost-- name?)
  2. Joe Fortino
  3. Jim Anderson
  4. Me (Stan Galat)
  5. Paul (NDPENDANT)
  6. Marty GZXTJHRWMGTOHKLPLNBLNBHGJHK<NBHGGBVGHHNJKN#$MMAITZ
  7. Tom Boney
  8. Chris Starleaf

Even if only half of us could make it to something, it'd be worth doing.

I can't host anything this year-- it's just nuts. I know I said that last year, but I'm working pretty much around the clock to get into this house by July 1, and it's fighting every step of the way.

Regardless, the vast bulk of the guys are in the Chicago/west suburbs area. The Starved Rock area is pretty much ideal for a quick day-trip, and Chris lives there and knows the roads, etc.

Lake Geneva, or similar is cool too, but we don't have anybody on the ground to set it up.

Whatever we do, lets just keep it informal and focus on driving and stopping at low-key bar-food joints.

What say you, men of the corn?

I would be willing to Host/Lead a drive around the Starved Rock Area.      This is arguably the best roads in the Northern IL area,   with low traffic.

I'm not sure what date has already been planned but I suggest it be a Saturday towards the end of July so everyone can get their speedsters back,  or in top roadworthy condition.   I still need to do an oil and brake service on my car.

I'm thinking the Drive would Start at 8:00-8:30 AM,   include a lunch stop somewhere,     and end around 3:30 PM,  depending on the heat of the day..       100 miles tops

with an optional diner somewhere afterwards??

Chris

Stan - my apologies, only Joe knows from our discussion in Carlisle.  My tub is in 100's of pieces and looking to get it into the shop in mid/late July for paint.  Pretty much a full tear down and rebuild.  Then like Humpty Dumpty... time to put her all back together.  I wouldn't mind riding shot gun if there happened to be a right seat available?  Sounds like a fun event.
