Malibu Cruise this weekend!  Witness Eddy @Karyadi's legendary navigational and precision driving skillz!  Come one, come all!  Run what you brung!!

Who:  Eddy Karyadi, Tom Murtaugh, possibly some local non-Speedster-drivin' knuckleheads, and YOU!

What:  We're doing Eddy's favorite route through Malibu.  We'll start at the top of the Santa Monica Mountains and run down, up, and around, and maybe go 'round again!

When:  This Sunday morning, July 23rd, by 7:15am.  Stragglers will be left behind!  Trust me -- catching up will NOT be easy!

Where:  Meet at the Starbuck's on Topanga Canyon Road and Dumetz (https://goo.gl/maps/LwmeAkJgVus)

Why:  Because the sun is chirpin' and the birds are shinin', and we've got some treads that need shavin'!

How:  10/10ths ANGRY!  But all in good fun.  :-)

Hope to see you there!

What Eddy said.

Methinks I had too much coffee before I posted -- slightly embarrassed.  Upside:  I got alot done!

Reviewing this thread, the main take-aways are:

1.  Sunday will be a beautiful morning for a drive.

2.  Eddy knows a great route and cuts a helluva line.

3.  Safety first.  I only go fast down Tuna Canyon.  Honestly.

Come one, come all!  For real this time!!

Sounds great Tom and I would go , unfortunately I am teaching my daughter how to drive Sunday morning and then I volunteer with my VFW Post in Dana Point at a local concert venue. We sell Food and popcorn and all monies collected go to our Veterans in need. Have a great time and I'm sure we will plan more rides...I heard there will be a Mt. Palomar trip soon - most likely when the weather cools a bit in the Fall. Cheers - Dutch

Tom..........I can't go tomorrow so don't wait for me. Today i uncovered Rhonda to get her ready for tomorrow and ALAS ! Gasoline all over the floor and running on 2 cyls ! Looked down the carbs and found that the left one was the problem....Stuck float ! I Beat on the carb with a small tack hammer to no avail. i removed the air cleaner....and Gas was pouring down the throat of carb left !  SO that's where I am....I don't feel safe till everything checks out OK...When you start playing with these carbs and the linkage and those peskey little idle jets....your gonna have to take more time.....I'm done for tonight...I wish I was going with you guys ...so have a good time and post some photos of your trip....Bruce

Next time you go to Mexico for rest and relaxation you need to leave the keys to your castle and the keys to Rhonda with one of us so she can be properly exercised in your absence.

We had a fantastic time in Malibu this Sunday!  Eddy led a great route, and we had no problems.  We were joined by John Lazorack, an accomplished Ultimate Street Car racer and a good friend.  See if you can pick out which ride is his!

@Lfepardo  -- Greg Leach at Vintage Spyders upgraded my cooling system to improve airflow and capacity.  This entailed cutting out the trunk to make space for a much larger fan, radiator, and shroud.  The system works great (even when carving canyons in 90^+ heat!), but I did lose a little earthquake preparedness space.  That said, I still carry the bare necessities, such as my Rambo knife and my life straw, among other things.  :-)

@aircooled  -- Bruce, we were sorry to hear about the carb issue.  Hope you get back up and running soon.

@Dutch and @Jethro and @Tom Williams Hope to see you on the next one!

Thanks again to Eddy for his excellent driving and navigational skills.  Looking forward to doing another one soon!

Glad you guys had fun, and nice car John! My speedie is with Greg @Vintage Motorcars Inc. I thought I had an engine leak but could not trace it, but after Greg put it on the rack he found that it was my trany....bummer. Now she's in for a trany rebuild and I am out of commission for about 3 weeks. I trust Greg's work and cant wait to get her back on the road. Cheers all!
