I installed my new hand made Chris Runge aluminum seats yesterday. The drivers side was pretty easy and all holes for the rails/sliders lined up with just a little fiddling needed. The passengers side was a challenge and it is fixed though it could be put on tracks I have. I had to do some bending of the seat edge where the e-brake is, I made one 3" cut on the right seat base due to the chassis tube (see the picture I sliced it at the bottom to be able to hammer it in away from the tube I then drilled a small hole through the two sections to hold that together), I used a hammer to indent the left side of the seat base to clear the cable shift tube I have and I had to drill 4 new holes and fill in the old ones550 Chris Runge seats 2016-10-21 12.21.45 [1)550 Chris Runge seats 2016-10-21 12.21.45 [7)550 Chris Runge seats 2016-10-21 12.21.45 [14)550 Chris Runge seats 2016-10-21 12.21.45 [19)550 Chris Runge seats 2016-10-21 12.21.45 [21)550 Chris Runge seats 2016-10-21 12.21.45 [25)550 Chris Runge seats 2016-10-21 12.21.45 [34)550 Chris Runge seats 2016-10-21 12.21.45 [38). I think they look great either bare metal or with my old FG seats center sections. I drove it with and with out the center sections.  Before getting the seats I spoke to Chris Runge and Carey via email. Chris let me know he used Carey's FG 550 seats as his buck to make his and Carey confirmed and let me know how much work I was looking at Thank you Chris and Carey.

I believe they are well worth the $ and effort. To me these are works of hand made car art by Chris and I find them comfortable either way with or without my existing ES/Beck red leather center pads. If you've seen his cars and other things he's done you'll understand.

There's some work required as I wrote to fit both in. The drivers side being fairly easy the passengers side is a challenge. Talk to Chris Runge to see if he can mod the right seats (passengers side) to consider the SE/Beck chassis frame tube base and depending on your e-brake the left side of the seat edge will need to be bent in to allow room as well as the left seat frame needs to be hammered in to allow room in my case for the cable shift tube.

My new replacement car is a Vintage(as was the old one). The chassis tubes are 2" diameter so I think that may help me versus the Beck 3". My new shifter cables go straight down the center, so that's good. Also, I have a replica handbrake, pull rod is very low and just next to the center tunnel, so I think it will clear just fine. I do have to install a slider on the driver's side, my GF is 5'2"! But on the plus side, she is an excellent driver as well as passenger so.....we do what we must!
