OK, history time.

Alan Cassell, one of the principles in the Custom Coach Works / Carrera Coachworks debacle from a few years ago I believe was involved as a principal in Kitzkrieg.

If memory serves, he sold out to a silent investor, a retiring dentist, who, last we heard, was making a go of it under the Kitman name, again that is my recollection.

If you read the voluminous history in the sites archives about CCW/CCW it should be more than enough to dissuade you from dealing with any company that has anybody from that organization involved in any way.

I recall the dentist leaving several post here about his venture and that Cassells was long gone.

I would want those facts confirmed before proceeding.

Check their ads on the Samba.

Isn't this one of the past partners of Kritzkrieg . And I believe these guys are upstanding from what Ive read. Dr Ing or something like that.

The Dr. Ing is the first part of the citation of Dr. Ferry Porsche's legal name in German. It usually is part of the disclaimer that replica Porsche parts manufacturers put in their ads to keep Porsche Corp from suing them.

I think the owner of Kitman/Kitzkrieg is a Dr. Chris Kebler (sp.).

@Chris Kleber, KitMan Motors

Chris Kleber is Kitman Motorshttps://www.facebook.com/kitzkrieg/

I'm not sure who San Diego Replicas is but they're not the same.

SDR "borrowed" a number of Carey's photo's from his website and he told them to take them down. It took them a while but I believe they have done that now. Their website is sparse and doesn't show any photos of finished cars. Their physical address is in a very small industrial complex next to a mattress outlet. Google aerial views don't show any cars in their parking lot which I'd expect from a place like this. Their Facebook page gets a new photo every now and then but it isn't in regards to any cars being built. There was a photo of someone and Magnus Walker at the SEMA show. I guess that was supposed to lend some credibility to their business.

They may be a legit company but until I see something they've finished or someone from this website goes by and sees that they're actually doing something I can't vouch for them.

OK.

At some point last year it seems Dr. Kleber at Kitman and Mr. White at San Diego Replicas had discussions about SDR building out the kits that Kitman manufactures.

Kitman continues to advertise on the Samba, and the contact person in the ads is the same name that Dr. Kleber cited as his main guy at Kitman.

The SDR site seems dead in the water. It is still up, but doesn't look like anything is going on. I don't see any of their work on their site.

Bueler? Bueler?

Alan Cassell (corrected spelling) last heard of as the principal of something called "The AC Business" doing business and real estate consulting in San Diego. (Remember the whole "Mr. AC" moniker that he posted under on this site?)

You can find him on LinkedIn. His profile says nothing about CCW or Kitzkrieg. Probably too insignificant a part of his business empire to warrant a citation.

In case anybody is interested, the other half of the original CCW duo, Theo Hanson, has reinvented his story several times. He moved to Chicago and tried stand up comedy (honestly), he also tried to start a real estate venture to rehab old Chicago tenements and houses.

Next he turned up back in the San Diego area, and appears to still be there. His LinkedIn bio says the following:

"Bridge Builder constructing a future convergence for Oncology that includes non-toxic protocols that help support the body's ability to identify disease and eradicate it. Researcher, documentary film maker, speaker and Cancer Sherpa."

That translates to selling blenders and fruit and vegetable juicing recipes. See his website, Raw Potential.

He is about as qualified to work in Oncology as I am to be an astronaut.

Good news is that he doesn't appear to be putting the car buying public at risk, just  perhaps those unfortunate souls fighting serious disease. He has a talent for shedding the facts about each previous misadventure.

There is a special place for guys like this.

I am the sole owner of KitMan Motors.  Jonathan Satoski works with me.  Just the two of us.   www.kitmanmotors.com   (844)356-0356      chris cell 619-889-8337

We had a great day bringing a 356 coupe roller to the 356 Club of SoCal  Porsche "swap meet" last weekend. What a gathering of 356's!  Photo rich environment!    It was humbling to be sitting next to a beautifully restored 240hp black coupe worth $300K+.  and a new 911 for $147K.    Not everyone can play in that market so we are there for all of the others who love 356's and do not have a "real one'. I produce  356 chassis and bodies and can refer to some great builders who can build "turn key" for you.  Working on the 550 Spyder molds that I have.

We are refining the Coupe and Speedster bodies and custom tube chassis and shortened VW chassis that we have.  Working on precise fitting of doors, hinges and making our own stainless steel window frames for the Coupe.  Finishing up my 356 Coupe shown on webpage front with mid engine Subie , A arms, Coil over Fox shocks.   " It always takes longer than you think".......... but worth it!   Contact me  or Jonathan for any questions.

Cheers,

Dr. Chris Kleber

I saw an ad on Ebay, someone selling Subrau conversions for VW's.

www.subiswaps.com

I contacted them, would like a Subaru engine in my Speedster.

Seems they are the same company as

www.sandiegoreplicas.com

Just another name. I ask for photos of what they have done. He commented, "

We have done multiple Subi swaps. Three of the six cars currently being built in our shop are with Subaru engines."

Could or would not provide any photos and or references.
