The Hustler is running and registered. I'm getting it ready for it's first

road trip. Limerock race track has it's Fall vintage race weekend. They

race vintage sports cars like, Ferrari, Porsche, Maserati, etc. Sam Posey

set a lap record there back in the old days. He was also involved with the

the making of the Hustler. I found the car on his property, and it was

untouched, and sat for 35 years. He's going to be there, and hasn't seen

the car since it was put away. I'm sure some of you have been following

my progress on getting it back to life. I did all the mechanical stuff stuff,

but tried to leave it as original as possible. The car was designed by a person

who was involved with Lotus's back in the 60's, so it was made to look like

one. I just so happened to have a real Lotus at my shop, so I took some

shots of the together.

Wow!  That was one of Alex Dearborn's cars.   He was the light behind Auto Dynamics in Marblehead, MA, maker of the famous "Deserter" Dune Buggy, too - the Corvair-powered one Steve McQueen drove on the beach in the original "Thomas Crown Affair" movie.  Alex is now living in Maine (summer) and Florida (winter) and an active member of the New England 356 club.  He drives a one-of-42-made, dual rear grill 1958 Speedster that is gorgeous.  That's my trivia of the day.
