Just upgraded to a larger bore MC and placed the reservoir (Empi) on top of the MC. I did bench bleed but not sure it was good enough. A couple questions.

1. Which pressure bleeder brand/model to buy that will fit the cap? Thinking its time to own 1 but don't want to make a mistake--or break the bank.

2. Some controversy on bleeding order since it is 4 lug 4 disc car. Some say start closest to MC some say farthest from MC. I've always started farthest but have never had 4 disc on an VW.

3. DOT 3 proper grade--some say--disc brake fluid??

Thanks-David

Yeah, I agree. Pump with a friend, have some beers when done.

According to Airkewld, you should bleed 4 wheel disc backwards to conventional wisdom starting with the closest. Last time I did it this past spring, I did it both ways.

I have an extra MC cap that I drilled and tapped for 1/8" pipe thread, then threw in a Schrader valve adapter. Set your air pressure for 3-5 lbs., you don't need much. It gets a lot of air out, but then again, I never bench bleed.

To get all the air out, I've always had to do it the old-fashioned way, especially with the 4 piston Wilwood front calipers. Pump vigorously a few times, hold and bleed. This seems to dislodge those last few air bubbles. Then I get a nice firm pedal.

DOT 3-4 all the way, usually I buy Valvoline.
