I don't speak Portuguese but this is my best guess based on Google. I don't believe these are actually accurate for Becks so the labels may not mean anything (someone may know better). It could be that wires were just put somewhere instead of where labeled. I will likely have to trace back wires, where I can to change label position. It is, yet another use for blue tape. I am posting this just so no one else needs to look. Couldn't figure out the one remaining label. It came up as gloves and...Read More...

Laying under the back of the speedster using a heavy 8" C' clamp to position the rear bumper brackets before drilling . The C 'clamp decided to part ways with the bracket smacking my eye brow Damn that smarted ! Blood ran like a poked pig in seconds completely filling my eye & down my face dripping everywhere. %$*^ that look like all hell broke loose...Cleaned to see a minor 1/4" hole , Band Aid and back to work this dumb ass goes :~)Read More...

Butt Sag Adhesive

I'm about to wade into a butt sag repair on my CMC wide body. As part of the planning phase, I searched for and read forum posts about the process. Some of the posts mention adhesives, Liquid Nails (seriously?) and Loctite, who makes a vast array of products. Does anyone have specific product recommendations? I'm assuming I need something with strong shear resistance.Read More...

Instrument replacement

I have been attacking all of the things I don't like about the older CMC replicaca I purchased. One of the things are the gauges. I wondered if anyone ever replaced theirs with the VDO instruments? If so how did you simply go about it ? I am trying not to have to replace the whole dashboard. Maybe, there is no easy fix ?Read More...

Turn Signal Wiring

Morning everyone! I hope you all are fairing well through all this. Week three of working from home and I can't say it's that great. But I'm sneaking out to the garage every so often. The things you can get done! I'm sure Will will answer me later but I'll throw it out there just the same. I've torn out the awful wiring mess and put in the beautiful setup from VS. WTF didn't I do this years ago? The front running lights are in the headlight and the turn signal is lower next to the grill.Read More...

So I pulled off the valve covers on the Spyder today and set her up close as I could to TDC on #1 to check the valve lash, understanding the "loose zero" means the pushrod should spin more or less freely but there should be no gap between the rocker arm and valve stem. Seems easy! But, reaching down with my nitrile-gloved fingers to spin the pushrods, I couldn't at first rightly tell if I was spinning them or not. Then I was pretty sure I was. Then, reaching to the #2 cylinder bank, and...Read More...

I'm considering a Vintage Speed exhaust system: https://store.vintagespeed. com.tw/PORSCHE-356-REPLICA- EXHAUST-50-35-p132913657 I've seen photos where it looks like it hangs pretty low. Clearance on my 2015 VS replica (and most others, too) is already minimal. Any experience with these systems? Comments about fit, finish, and sound wound also be appreciated.Read More...

54 speedster replica

Forum: Newbies
Hi all. Looking at a 54 speedster replica. It’s titled from 92. It’s been in a garage for 20 years. Fiberglass is in good shape, and seems to have all the parts. Looks like a 1600 and the motor turns. Hasn’t run in quite a few years. Looking for an idea for valuation since the former owners wife has no idea. Any info would be helpful. TyRead More...

As the clutch wears does the free pedal increase or decrease? When I set the free pedal should I set it at 1/2" so it can increase to 3/4" or set it at 3/4" so it can decrease to 1/2"? I posted this on the Samba got 2 answers. Each was the opposite of the other. One said increase and the other said decrease.Read More...

Building a faux cam Carrera track car

A lot of people have asked me the details about my speedster so I thought I would start a new thread. Let me start with a disclaimer: this is what I have found that works well through my experience I will start with the engine. I have a 2276cc. I’m running a doghouse cooler set up and a setrab oil cooler with a fan up front behind the horn grill. I used 1/2 SS lines to run the oil from front to rear. Cooling is the most critical part of these engines. I decided to go with a dry sump for...Read More...
