I wonder if you have the Weber manual and have read it at least 3 times. Running like crap doesn't tell us anything. I'd go with DannyP's suggestion of tuning what you have first. If you set the carbs up BY THE BOOK they will run reasonably well.

If your idle stop screw is turned out more than 1/2 turn from just touching the butterfly arm It will NEVER run right. Ask me how I know.
