Welcome to my world, baby. I carry "Virginia tape" (foam tape), "tar tape" (the tar impregnated cork stuff you used), "tin tape" (3M aluminum duct tape), black duct tape, and an array of 3M Super 33, Super 88, and various colors of lesser electrical tapes.

The tar tape is useful in many, many applications.
