I would go with the 3.88 R&P gear& depending on how much & what kind of driving you do will determan what 4th gearm to use. I didnt like the 388 with the .82(Ithink) with my small motor (1874) but the 3.88 with the .93 was just about right, but with my big motor I would rather have the .82 if I couldent go 5 speed. then that would be 5th gear.
