Has anyone ever pursued a “paint on” version of a plate like they use in UK?

If allowed, it seems like it would be pretty simple to get a vinyl “plate” and apply/remove as needed.

Here in Utah, it’s not legal. Only “official, state issued” plates are allowed, although I’ve had no problems with my repro plate on the rear and nothing up front.

ps: Damned if Spyders aren’t gorgeous in white. I wonder why more people don’t choose it.
