Reply to "Better windshield bottom sealing"

That's the correct way my it challenges my sanity Gordon :~)  Windshield re- installation... I am doing this in the next day or so I will take a few photos..... My windshield installs are now done by pressing the base rubber against the back side of the aluminum cowl piece rather than wrestle trying to get it to set in the groove.  I set the base rubber on a bead of ALEX brand flat black latex caulk from ACE. I no longer use the beaded rubber fender welting under the post bases, I just spread a donut of the latex caulk around the post hole before setting the posts to the body and clean up the excess by wrapping a paper towel around my finger.  Lastly,  I mask off a   1/8" space between the bottom of the cowl aluminum piece and the cowl pressing the caulk along there with my finger, remove the tape and let is set up for 24hours. ...........ALEX brand caulk cleans up easily with a damp cloth.
