Reply to "bumper brackets?"

To my way of thinking, the "T" brackets are worthless. In the event of an impact, they simply transfer the load to the chassis. Tehn you wind up with a bent chassis. I scrapped mine. I went to a salvage yard and obtained bumper shocks from a BMW. I made special supports and fitted the bumper shocks between the supports and the bumper. The special supports were made to attach to the square frame mambers at the rear and the torsion members at the front. Now a slight bump will not damage the chassis. It seems to me that bumper shocks should be an option available to Speedsters. At any rate, you might try fitting a rubber member between the bumper and the T brackets, using the rubber member to provide a proper fit up.
