The California coupes are pan based as far as I know but Beck/SE have a custom frame on their C coupe. Lane is having one built.

Since you already had a C, you know the aircooled experience. Not sure how many hp you had but If you want a turn the key and go experience a subie is pretty bullet proof and the torque band in a 200hp NA subie is really nice.
