The two I had go bad broke at the upper cage to shaft weld, haven't seen a cage fatigue like that ! You can have a piece of pipe pro welded in the same dimensions as the cage. The reason I say pro welded is many home wire feed TIG welders do not provide the penetration needed. All that matters is that by some miracle you are safe .
