Coming to the U.S. Part II

Hi Folks,

It’s been quite a while since I last posted, 2015 to be exact, when I brought my family out to the U.S. for a month’s holiday. We had an awesome time and met so many friendly people. The highlight was certainly Yosemite NP, it is such a beautiful place and so different to anything here in Australia. I was also very keen during that trip to try and catch up with some of you and your speedsters but unfortunately it didn’t work out.

Anyway, we had such a great time we’re coming back in Sept/Oct this year, but this trip will be ‘west coast’ only. I’m kicking myself about this because as it happens we are over there during Tour de Smo’ weekend.

Our schedule is a week in the LA area (Santa Monica/Anaheim) before flying out to Mexico for a week. We fly back into Las Vegas, spend a couple of days there before starting a two week road trip that will take in Zion NP, Monument Valley, Yosemite NP, Sacramento (and anything we can find in between), before ending in San Francisco. There is a lot of road between Monument Valley and Yosemite NP so any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Now the main purpose for my posting is actually two-fold.

I’m really hoping I might have the chance to catch up with some of you guys with your speedsters through the trip and if I get the word out early I may fair better than last time.

And secondly …

After 30 years of dreaming of owning a speedster I have a green light to buy!! I am hoping I may have the opportunity to look at one or two speedsters while visiting. I’ll pen up a wanted post in the classified section in the next day or two but in short, as you may have seen in posts from a few Aussies before me, the speedster will need to be constructed pre-1989 to meet our import and registration rules. I am hoping there may be someone out there with a speedster of the right age considering selling in the coming months.

Well it’s 9 weeks until we fly out (land in LA on the 14th Sept) so I will keep an eye on this thread and look forward to hearing from any of you.

Kind Regards

Tony
