GasTank sender,,,, part Duex

I guess I'll try it again..... when installing the sender into the fuel tank.......does the float point port, starboard, fore, or aft ?
(I recently sold the sailboat, and can't help still talking like that ? ). None of my books even touches on this issue, Please help!!!!!!!
