Harbor Freight Paint Gun

Off topic for most car related subjects but I tried an el cheapo paint gun today and could not believe the excellent results. Can't seem to post the link here but it is just Harbor Freight's p/n 47016. Only $16 !!!

We bought the little bugger down in Cocoa Beach last year some time and it's been just sitting till now. I had a different type of HVLP paint sprayer with it's own built in compressor also from HF but could not easily get consistent results.

Anyway, it's time to start painting airplane parts and I'm painting the fabric and aluminum bits bits with readily available Behr semi-gloss exterior enamel paint and primer in one. I bought the Canuck equivalent of Floetrol ( called Latex extender  up here ) and proceeded with a 4-1 ratio. Hooked up a small pressure regulator to the gun and kept everything at 30-35 psi. I cleaned the gun right out of the box as recommended and adjusted the gun's air and liquid flow taps on it as recommended by some expert on youtube last night combined with info on the mfg's instructions.

I'm not suggesting this will provide "Speedster / Spyder" body paint quality results but for odd jobs around the house...painting garage doors, man doors, general stuff around the house etc. this tool provides excellent results for next to nothing $$$ investment.
