Sadly for us, @DannyP, ‘normal unleaded’ in the UK is now £1.47 per litre, which works out at £5.56 per US gallon. Current exchange rates means this translates to $7.36 a US gallon. However, it gets worse, because our basic unleaded is now 10% ethanol so to run an older engine you really need ‘premium’ unleaded which is only 5% ethanol. That’s currently £1.52/L = $7.61 US gallon.
