We have a couple VW bugs with 901 gear boxes , the gearbox fits pretty good between the frame horns , but a 915 box is much larger and is not going to fit so you will need to figure a way to mount the 915 box by welding up new frame horns or hanging it like a 356.
Also you will need to learn to not hate the 5 speed shift pattern with the dogleg 1st gear ,
PS: they do make a 4 speed 901 -902 box that was mostly in the 912

Or, get away from weird shift pattern, crappy P synchros and do a Berg 5...
