Reply to "New factory built Chesil Speedster sold in 7 hours - £44,250"

@Panhandle Bob I know, right?! Even I was shocked. However, I will say that Westfield will do things properly - they've got a long, long history delivering top quality with their Sevens. In fact, they're not even seen as a 'kit car'/ replica manufacturer any more, just a quality niche car manufacturer.

But it does show just how much replicas of good looking classic cars are shooting up in value these days. Hawk Ace (an AC Ace replica) were going for around £16k 4 years ago and are now the thick end of £44k.. Of course, with most replicas, the quality is also going up, so they're no longer slapped together donor cars with an ill-fitting fibreglass body and a hotchpotch of interior fitments.

How about this for mark-up - this Hawk was bought at auction for £29,750 last November. It's now on sale for £47,500! That's £3k a month inflation!!
