@Michael McKelvey- On the short block I have on my engine stand the top of the tube is either a little under 1/2" or 1/2" higher than the pulley sheetmetal, depending where it's measured from. There's a little dip in the sheetmetal right by the dipstick so the cylinder cover can fit over it. I know it's not exactly what you're looking for but I hope it helps. Al
