Just alternative thought - the look of old patina is really in on vintage cars.  A couple have been shown here on SOC - one with rust look and another with buffed off (red) paint wear.  A shiny new paint job on supposedly 50 year old car - signals plastic car.  It's not the look for everyone but the cost for a teardown and good repaint has gotten quite costly.

 

Not many don't like shiney, Greg. I'm one of those and do miss the patina of my old Speedster. But I do like the nice roof I have now...and the seats...and the roll up windows...and the fat tires...and the tube frame...and four wheel discs....and IRS..etc.
