Reply to "Porsche Speedster with 2.7L Corvair Turbo"

Is the Corvair engine reverse rotation or is the ring and pinion flipped in the transaxle? I have done it both ways and they both have their downside. Building the engine to run in reverse makes the issue of keeping the cooling fan belt tracking correctly. If you drive these for 5 min. with a thrown belt you will over heat the engine to destruction. The ring and pinion flip was my favorite but makes for a weaker trans axle.
