Reply to "Raddio, daddy-o"

I just talked to Jorge Wagner of Autoradio Wagner (Germany). I asked for a similar set up; authentic look visible under the dash hooked to a CD changer in the trunk. He said that you could do it, but because of the antiquated electronics, the quality of the cd sound would suffer. Apparently, JVC had a CD changer a couple of years ago that was more or less self-contained, with it's own amp, but it was discontinued.

He recommeded installing a (working) dummy radio, either Becker or Blaupunk (from the late 50's) visible under the dash, then mount a state of the art Sony hidden under the dash to hook to the cd changer. The Sony has a joy stick remote for all functions.

Not sure how I'll play it. I've got a week or so before I order up my Speedster. Anyone else have another scenario?

Mike
