Reply to "Replica 356 Gauge Hole Template"

First step is to have the steering wheel on the column and then mount the dash brow to follow the radius of the steering wheel. ( drill the brow holes slightly oversized this let's you move it a bit for best appearance. Next is the gauge placement, the VDO's are 100mm...  I cut out three 100mm paper discs and with a compass mark the exact center.   Tape the first one at center and 1/4" down from the bottom of the dash brow. Tape the remaining two in place then stand in the back of the speedster and if needed move the L & R templates until you have the best position / eye appeal. I use a good quality  3 - 3/8" hole   3 7/8" hole saw  ( zero run out) at slow speed to cut the openings, you'll need to open the holes just a bit with a small drum sander on a cordless drill to accept the 100mm gauges.

Fixed it.
