If you mount it to the firewall you could just add a crossmember spanning the 2 bolt locations. Just need to buy a 2 foot or so piece of 1-2" steel and bolt through it. Simple and cheap. I'm sure others will have better ideas.

On the removable roll bar I'm just hopefully bringing mine in to the shop tomorrow and have got some ideas. Weld points will be on the outside of the tubes and will hopefully also be height adjustable as the SCCA is just passing some new rules but I don't like the look of the extra height they're requiring. It will take a couple week to get done but I'll post pictures afterward. I know there are others with removable roll bars.
