I used Home Depot stair tread material. It comes in lengths up to 50”. A couple of 3’ or 4’ pieces should do and cost a lot less than a vinyl hall runner, plus the stair tread will lie flat while the hall runner stuff comes in a roll and likes to stay in a roll. rolleyes The finished lip seems perfect for the outside of the car threshold and forms a nice, neat finished look.
I’m just about to get another stair tread to use next to my foot by the dead pedal, too. (Hint: You can also reshape it slightly with a heat gun).
