I find it easier to pull the alternator and shroud because of clearance issues once the engine is lowered down. Since I can't drop the engine without pulling the dell 40's anyway just taking the few minutes to pull the shroud gives me a ton more room sliding it out from the body. Car is on 4 jack stands---no quick jack yet.
