To use a supercharger or turbocharger, one can not have a crate engine. If he does, then he will do nothing, but tear the living hell out of it. However, if he does not have a crate engine and actually used high performance parts in the assembly of his engine--meaning, parts that can take one hell of a beating--then he is already half way there. The rest of the issues will exists in air flow and compression.
