I get the feeling you really want to do the engine turned dash, and if that's the case, you should.

My personal opinion is that it's a little over the top. Your car is going to be a serious outlaw beast with the 996 engine sitting behind you. For me the dash needs to say there's nothing cute or frilly about the car. Think Emory outlaw vs Big Daddy Ed Roth outlaw.
