I had a series of exchanges with "Pete" yesterday on this forum and it got pretty contentious so I just deleted my side of it.
He seems to think that he is the arbiter of what good quality is, note the tone of his response to Jethro. He is the customer and he has the right to complain to the vendor if he doesn't believe he is getting what he paid for.
He might be better served by showing the tops and bottoms of both tonneaus rather than the top of one and the bottom of another. Sort of apples and oranges comparison. When that happens you have to wonder why not show the same part of both as a reasonable comparison.
I understand his frustration about his refund as well. But calling out Vintage on the forum is pretty vindictive, as this appears to be the first problem he has had. It isn't like this is an SAS type of problem.
I told him I really didn't care about this whole thing. I don't, I'm concerned about a Cat 3 hurricane that just shifted towards my location. But, I don't like being used as a foil in his battle with Vintage. We can't help him, his attitude makes me not want to even if I could. It appears that he just wants to vent, impune Vintages reputation, get his money and then retreat back to Switzerland.
I expect another blistering post once he reads this.
