What do you consider overpaying? The Vintage on EBAY has a larger motor which would already put your price "new" from Vintage at $25000 excluding any other options that the car may have. Their base is $23,500 and $1500 for the engine option. From Beck, it would be about $1500 less if I recall. Plus, you don't have to wait. How much is it worth to have the car by springtime as opposed to 2006? I'm curious because my 2500 mile Vintage is for sale and if you add up all options, it would cost over $28,000 brand new. Mine is also titled as a 1956 which classifies it for antique plates(no sales tax in my state) and no emissions. How much more is that worth? I don't think that it that easy to drive your Beck or Vintage down the DMV with a 2004 MSO and get it registered as a '56. Also, as mentioned before, you can be driving the car now, weather permitting.
