I've mentioned it before but we've loaned and rented various cars for commercials/movies/magazine shoots (back when magazines existed)/etc... most went smoothly but we've had some cars damaged and one accidentally set on fire.

I have one hell of a day today, so I'll just elaborate on the latter ones briefly.  It was a Brazilian shoe company and they wanted to make a commercial where the driver was in a Spyder and the brakes went out so he stuck his foot out the door and his [whatever name brand it was] shoes stopped the car before plummeting over the bridge that was out.  Shoes fitted with pyrotechnics, driver goes to throw his left foot out the door and to the ground, failing at doing so (just as every single spyder owner would understand why), and the pyro goes off with his foot stuck in the car setting the carpet/interior on fire...  this is just one of the reason why we only sell to the studios now and don't loan.  :-)

Just trying to imagine the thoughts and words of that actor with the Richard Reid Specials. I mean, you don't even have to be inside the car to understand that the actions depicted in the script are impossible for anyone not trained by the Chinese National Acrobatic Troupe. . . .
