Reply to "Which oil to use..."

Todd M posted:

Regular motor oil chemically/molecularly breaks down over time, heat, and use.  All motor oils, including synthetics, become contaminated with combustion by-products.  Synthetics are probably less affected by contaminants, but the contaminants build up no matter what oil you use.  Change your oil frequently enough and the particular oil you use, just ain't gonna matter.  Changing your oil is WAY more important to the lubrication and life of your engine that what brand or type you use.

So no zinc required for a flat tappet engine ?  What a relief ! Thank you Todd for this timely confirmation.
