I had some time to work on the car today. I checked my valve lift height and it’s good, phew. It turned out the vacuum advance hose was leaking so changed it and the engine started to smooth out on acceleration. Now I have some hesitation on heavy acceleration and between 3500-to 5000rpm the car is surging? When I accelerate and let off the gas at around 3000rpm I get a loud backfire.
