Ed Edelbroch and Gail Banks figured out that more horsepower was available by matching the ports but leaving everything else rough. They found that Propane tended to hangout and adhere to the rough surfaces out at the manifold wall thus making higher volumetric efficiency and better cold starting. That’s my 2 Cents ! Sort of interesting too ....Bruce
