I am completely happy with my stock 2007 Suby EJ253 with variable cam lift rated at 173HP with the catalytic converter. My engine has the catalytic converter removed and an A-1 header so it puts out a tad more the 173HP I would think. I weighed my Speedster in at 1875lbs. The power is very usable horse power with good TQ. not just peaky HP at the top end of the rpm range like many built up type I engines.

I agree Thé torque band is pretty awesome from low rpm to high ..
