If you go around once a year and dress all the rubber ( ball joint and rack boots, CV Boots, weather strip, hoses, even wipers) with this link, you'll be amazed how much longer stuff lasts. All the rubber on my wife's Honda element is 10 years olden lives outside. It all looks like new stuff. I just hit it all once during the big fall cleaning.
