1957 Porsche 356 Speedster

Sale or trade for VW single cab truck potentially a bus.

1957 Porsche 356 speedster kit car. CMC or California Motor Cars fiberglass body. Titled as 1974 VW beetle. Only original VW part of the pan is the tunnel. Floor pans etc.. are all sheet metal and tubing fabricated to make a very stiff chassis. Wiring on this car is very clean and very well done. All welding looks great this was a very well made car when it was built.

The good.
I bought this as a project in November so everything that I’ve done to this car is new mostly since march of this year.
Powered by a 2.2 liter fuel injected Subaru engine. In the car when I bought it so mileage is unknown
New coil and plugs purrs like a kitten
Put to the ground through a 4 speed VW transmission
Stopping comes via 4 wheel disc brakes will drilled rotors.
New Paint is Viper GTS silver with some green pearl. Makes this curvy girl look great in the sun.
New Vintage ACP steering wheel with laser engraved Porsche logo
New tilt column. Definitely makes getting in and out easier
New Cool Rydes shifter
New carpet throughout and in trunk from Vintage Motorcars of California
New diamond stitch door panels and arm rests from Vintage Motorcars of California
New Scat ProCar rally low back seats
New 2 point wide racing lap belt seat belts
New 17” Fuch style wheels wrapped in 235/45/17 tires
New Stoddard side view fender mount mirrors
New Stoddard door handles
New Stoddard hood crest

The lesser than good
It drips a little oil so it still marks it’s spot like any other VW. Not enough to worry about by any means
Speedo will glitch and not read accurately sometimes
Previous owner put bedliner on the dash. I ordered extra material from Vintage motorcars that matches the door panels to cover the dash. Haven’t had time to get it done.
Paint has a scratch on the left rear next to the tail light. Happened right before a show so I quickly touched it up. A talented painter could probably make it perfect again.
Urethane bushings throughout so it handles great but squeaks
