James Dean, James Dean
I know just what you mean
James Dean, you said it all so clean
And I know my life would look allright
If I could see it on the silver screen
You were the lowdown rebel if there ever was
Even if you had no cause
James Dean, you said it all so clean
And I know my life would look all right
If I could see it on the silver screen
We'll talk about a low-down bad refrigerator,
You were just too cool for school
Sock hop, soda pop, basketball and auto shop,
The only thing that got you off was breakin' all the rules
James Dean, James Dean
So hungry and so lean
James Dean, you said it all so clean
And I know my life would look all right
If I could see it on the silver screen
Little James Dean, up on the screen
Wond'rin' who he might be
Along came a Spyder and picked up a rider
And took him down the road to eternity
James Dean, James Dean, you bought it sight unseen
You were too fast to live, too young to die, bye-bye
You were to fast to live, too young to die, bye-bye
Bye-bye, Bye-bye, Bye-bye, Bye, bye

Hot Damn! Isn't it great that Mary Juana is now legal and, obviously, available in South Lake Tahoe?!  I'll see you Thursday!

As a newbie (owner since 9/2018) and some SLO county residency under my belt, maybe next year I can be of more help in planning, like reserving a private setup at a local winery, with of course a great road to get there (See Old Creek Rd. between Morro Bay and Rt 46) as just one example.

A place like the Estrella Warbirds museum in Paso Robles has car clubs arriving all the time for visits and photo shoots.  I'm a volunteer over there.

I'm organizing this year's rally and unless I completely blow it and get flogged to death I will probably end up doing next year's rally as well. I'll send you a PM with my number if you could reciprocate in kind we can talk and come up with a nice midday stop. If there is a hanger we could use at the airport for a lunch that might be real cool. I believe I have now driven almost all of the roads out there between 101 and the 1, 41 to 46, and all the others in between and beyond.

Was there all day, from 8am until 4:30pm. Great cars. A bit smaller than the historics at Laguna Seca in August, but equally as cool.

Impressive to see (2) Ferrari 250 GTO’s racing against a few Ferrari 250GT, a Ferrari 250 TdF, and a few Cobras and a few speedsters.

Was cool to see the speedsters hold their own against the much larger engine displacements of the Ferraris.

Also, a huge highlight was watching Lewis Hamilton’s F1 car (the W07) whip around the track to set the track record.

Yes sir. Amazing weather. Enjoy your day tomorrow. Make sure phone fully charge. To much pictures and video. Ended up at Laganitas beer place at Petaluma

I will, for sure, be taking my camera. I don't carry a "smart" phone with me - I can't stand 'em. The one I've got is used exclusively to keep papers from flying off my desk. The old clam-shell Motorola works fine as my emergency phone. I keep in the Speedie (to call AAA) instead of the missing spare.

We have done that many times thru the years. For the newbies it would be great. Boring for most of us

Excellent, group leader!

Regarding the raffle...I have run out of car-related items. I have no more shirts or artwork left, I'm down to just two etched glass speedster mugs which I'm keeping.

This year I'm thinking drugs or alcohol...probably alcohol. The drugs will most likely be consumed on the ride down...

There are a lot of local places to stop and get SWAG from. Barrelhouse Brewery growlers, hats, shirts (they even had a cool VW bus themed shirt), o Firestone Brewery. Head out to one of the many wineries and grab a few bottles, stop by Anthony's shop and grab some Brad Penn oil for an oil change prize, etc etc. You're an imaginative guy so I'm sure you'll think of something.

Shop on Amazon and grab a tool roll or a compact tool kit. Prime will get it there overnight.

Alright, @Robert M, you shamed me into purchasing a raffle prize on Amazon. I did it while consuming alcohol...My second...whisky, neat. Therefore my gift was purchased while I was in a state. You could say that this raffle prize is related to alcohol.

I will present this raffle prize in it's Amazon packaging. The lucky(?) recipient will have to take a chance on its value and viability. Who knows? It could be compostible garbage bags or puppy treats as these items relate to my current orders.

The lucky(?) recipient might want to donate it back to the raffle, unopened, and add to the money prize at the end?  If it was me I would pass the box under the nose of a dog before I made that decision.

How was your day at Sonoma @paul

EXCELLENT! I got there early (7:30AM) and was able to spend some time with the 3 speedsters during their setup and prep. Then, I walked the complete paddock...drooling the entire time. I stayed for the first 3 races (#1: pre-WWII "BM's"(before mufflers); #2: I was so impressed with them, I forget ; #3: Ferarri's, 350 GT Mustangs, and the 3 Speedsters). At least the Porsches looked good while trying to keep up! All in all, it was a very good morning. I had to get home in time to do some errands and watch the Warriors. Gotta go...it's 4th Q and the Dubs are leading.

@montereybrian

x2 what Troy said. Our West Coast Cruise is not an exclusive cruise. Quite a few SOCers who no longer have their Speedsters still attend with their other favorite car. Cuz'n Vinny has driven his '57 T-bird and Cadillac XLT, GERD drives his (AHEM) Miata, Dave Mitchell drives his Fiat Spyder, Bill Nash brought his '72 El Camino, Troy has brought his Mercedes GLC, etc.

The event is not so much about the cars as it is the camaraderie we've all established over the years.

Don't miss the event simply because your Spyder is not ready. This IS NOT the PCA!!

But why not. This fictitious product now comes in blue too.

I'd like one, long sleeve henley in graphite. Please add a white and copper racing stripe with the number 11 on the sleeve.

PLEASE let me know where to send the $4.00 + shipping.

Thank you.
