While I was driving my wife opened his door accidentaly with the elbow when she was looking for something in his bag (shoes). I stopped inmediately and we don´t worry about nothing but... it´s something to think about it (kids).

Anybody has mounted door locks or any kind of leather stripe in the interior to avoid this?

Thanks

Every car is different, but my door rattles were coming from the latches themselves.

A temporary fix was just putting a few layers of masking tape on the flat, mating surfaces to confirm that's where the noise was coming from.

Seven years later, I haven't been moved to find a more permanent fix, so I renew the tape every few months or so.

My old BMW 2002 had a similar latch that never creaked, but what is hard plastic (or ?) on my Speedster was a more pliable nylon on the 2002, so I'm guessing finding better material for that piece is the right fix.

At any rate, some tape will tell you if that's the source of the noise on your car.

I'll bet most of you don't know that if you push down on the interior door handle it will drop a position to  lock it, at least on the CNC FF VS speedsters

Alan; I checked my car today and tried this; only the driver’s door works like this. The passenger door’s feels too hard; not sure if I should try to use more force; I don’t want to break it. What do you think it could be?
