I try not to look a lot on BAT, it just sucks my life away     More seriously, I often think of buying something .. .but not from that platform, and when I do I realize the cost of restoration is the same on whatever car, but if you pick a 61 VW, the most you can go with it is 60mph flat out with a 36hp, and every car needs the same restoration project.  I think of @Marty Grzynkowicz   and his project and after it is all done whether he will miss the fibreglass experience, with no rust.

Only $7200 with a day to go!  I'd be truly afraid of hitting a bump at speed and falling out the bottom though.  That underside sure looks crusty. Windshield seems to fit and be functional - but have never seen another one with a frame around the windshield - they all seem to no windshield or plexiglass.

While you cannot guarantee no rust on a metal car, we did go to great lengths to ensure it probably will not rust fast. Electrostatic coating dip and a lot of seam sealing.  Especially driving in mostly good weather 2500 miles a year. Stored in climate controlled garage, I probably won’t see the rust bug for maybe maybe 20 years if it all.  No guarantees in life though. 👁

If we are putting bets on final price , my guess is $16k  ,

it’s a neat  driving car , with most of the work done , but so far does not seem to have gotten any traction on the auction ,

In my experience, that’s pretty typical of BaT. They generally heat up on the last day, the last hours, or even the last few minutes of the auction. I would guess ~$15 is where it will either sell, or not. Although pretty much the same body, the VW pan-based Devins are much less loved than the ladder framed front engined versions, with everything from BMC 950’s to V8s up front.

It's a Ghia windshield.
