hi there... i had a 356 speedster for 7 years and its been 10 years since i sold it. I test drover a 550 spyder the other day and fell in love with it. Everyone i speak to, including  porsche enthusiasts who have other cars, said the 550 is a nice car but very uncomfortable and people dont tend to hold on to these cars long. I think it depends on the person and what their passion is but i would entertain having one , its unique, different, lots of history for sure,, and the drawback is when people see it, they immediately know its a kit car.  This is truely a sports car i love to have someday.  I'm 49 and loved the 50's and porsche history.

Well, that might have something to do with Porsche only making 90 of them, I guess.

But look on the bright side - At least, with a replica, you can afford one.  Even the metal reproductions (only a handful built each year) are getting upwards of $1.2 million these days.

Special Edition, among others build bespoke 550's.

There are also some very nice privately constructed 550's as well.

I have a bespoke built Speedster. When people say it's a kit car I simply tell them that in my case it isn't, but there are some that have been purchased as kits. I could care less what people think. I don't show my car, I own it and drive it because I like it.

It doesn't rust, it is faster and better handling then the originals and if I stack it up I haven't destroyed a ridiculously valued automobile.

Hi there,

I have really enjoyed driving my 550 but best on smooth roads as this car does have a rough ride due to the suspension with rough roads.   I love this car but have not had a lot of time to truly love this car the way it deserves which is why I am selling her to a new owner who shares the same passion I do.  This is definitely an eye catcher and sounds so good.   Are you looking at purchasing a 550 in the near future?  I just moved into an apartment which does not make it conducive to get much drive time in which is another reason why I am selling this beautiful car.

Hi Maria, for some reason I am not about to access your private message. Will you please email me at scwebster7@sbcglobal.net?
