THAT!  That sets the tone for the weekend.  Woohoo!

Yessir.

I'm a little miffed that the flags weren't on for the picture, but I took them off for the $3 car wash. The nice part about bringing the limo is that we'll be able to ferry to the restaurants in style once I drop the trailer. I'm hoping the mailman brings my Cadillac power-chip, but the tracking is not hopeful.

I'm debating how much of the shop to bring, seeing how I pretty much destroyed the top end of the twin-plug engine in 2018 for want of a 7 mm socket, but it seems like no matter how much I pack, it's always something I left behind.

We do have a couple of pounds beef jerky and a 3-lb bag of smokehouse almonds-- you know, in case we get lost in the woods and need to live on something for a month or so. Jeanie's got the coat packed and some super-special hats.

I cannot tell you how much I'm looking forward to this,

I rode my bicycle with the Police Unity Tour from New Jersey to Washington D.C. to celebrate Police Week in 2011. Each group had a 20 member police escort blocking all of the traffic for us so we didn't have to stop. So yeah, police escorts are cool.

A True Story (Cross My Heart and all that stuff!): In 2012, I sat in on a small Q&A meeting with George W. Bush. I'll always remember one question asked of him: "Mr. President, now that you're a private citizen... is there anything you really miss from when you were in office?" After a couple seconds of thought, his answer was: "Yes, there is. On the way here from the airport, I noticed the driver had to stop and wait at every single light and that's what caused me to be late today. I really miss NEVER having to stop at a red light and just driving straight through. That was cool!"

You left out Lucky Mike’s incident, Danny.  After hour of serious technical twisties Mike Warjas pulls into the hotel parking lot and as he is about to put the car in a parking space his he loses all steering control.  His crush cage on the steering column shears and the steering wheel is no longer connected to, well, anything important.  He should buy a lottery ticket or 10.

Mike was being watched over for sure .... Read This it may save your Life !

I have had two a column crush cages come apart at the upper weld to the solid shaft the first was loading the speedster on a trailer at Carlisle and the second time this was after some extremely spirted driving as I was turning into my driveway.  Both ( two different cars) of mine that failed the previous owners unknowingly installed the steering box in the wrong angle applying too much upward force to the column when bolting the column to the 2 x 2 cross member under the dash and over time fractured the column weld.

These columns are ...around 50 years old ! ....Everyone needs to carefully inspect the column or have someone that knows what they are looking for i.e. know what fatigue cracks look like and loosen the two bots holding the column to confirm that their is no forced vertical pressure to the column when secured to the dash ....

How lucky Mike was !
