It is a D. It's a beautiful car. It's the only IM with a Berg 5 speed. Tony has countless hours into fabrication and installation in this car.

This car was purchased by Victor from Theron several years ago. Since then a new engine, tranny and suspension upgrades, not to mention a new paint job. It's a really gorgeous car: the paint color changes from silver to a light violet blue in the sunlight. The price is quite reasonable considering what has been done. Henry Reisner is quite impressed that Anthony was able to install a Berg 5 - something Henry has never attempted in the past.

Looks Good !  What year was it built?  This is your customer Anthony, did you do all the setup including the 5 speed installation

I believe it was built in 1999, I will check with owner. Low miles on car- 9074, yes I installed and tuned the car. We fit a rear sway bar to the IM chassis, custom made five speed mount in addition to installing a support for the torsion tubes. Installing a five on a vw pan is much easier than on a chassis car such as this. The IM chassis has the ability to adjust the ride height via a torsion stop. This feature was retained when installing the five speed.

Overall this car has it all, unique aircooled sound and handles like a go-cart on rails. This is a car you can take to cars and coffee at 7 am in the morning at 30 degrees out and have fun or take the top down later and enjoy the fresh air while your butt stays warm thru the heated seats

Just curious, IM's build there cars by moving the engine and tranny forward about 1&1/2" did you have to back up the engine and tranny to mount the Berg 5?

I spoke with Anthony this summer about what was involved here. The drive-train stayed in the standard IM position. What he did to make it work was staggering. I'm not scared of much, but I decided then and there that my 4-speed was going to be just fine in this car.

If you talk to Matt Berry he still had Carl's 901 5 speed a little while ago. How much work is that to fit in an IM?

Well it all depends how long the tranny is with the nose cone in comparison to a type one 4 Speed.

I was just wondering on the build with the Berg because any help in reducing the pendulum which IM does by moving the engine forward is a bonus... Anthony said he was able to fit it in at the same location so whatever he did all the parts fit and the mounts he used allowed it be done .... good for him.  5 speeds provide more rowing action so who ever buys it will be part of the new rowing team of 5 guys.

Hey that’s my old car!  This was a great car before the upgrades.  Reasonably priced after the upgrades.  The car has everything, heated seats and power windows.  The top is fully articulated and as close to water tight as you can get.

Also, for you Canada folk. It has a 1999 build date, so it can be imported to Canada.

Hey gang,

Sorry I haven't contributed to this post until now.

The reason I'm selling this amazing car is that I've become sole owner of my family business in Los Angeles and just can't seem to find the time to enjoy it.

When I purchased the car from Theron originally, it was already loaded with features and a blast to drive.  Of coarse in our pursuit in the madness, I started making additional modifications to the car.

Below is a list of options from when I purchased the car:

I'm not too mechanical so any questions related to work done should be directed to the best Speedster mechanic in NorCal - Anthony.

Bump!!!!  The car is currently at my shop in northern ca. I will be delivering back to the customer in the next week or so. If you like to see it, contact me.

This is a solid car, handles great, plenty of power, 5 speed, and those extra comforts of power windows, heated seats and Bluetooth so your other half can enjoy the ride too!
