I've been toying with selling this for a while, I listed it, but then wavered, etc, etc.  I love it, but it just doesn't get driven.  So now I'm finally getting serious. I bought it from our site moderator @Theron in 2014.  This car has nearly every option Intermeccanica offered when it was built, including power roll-up windows and heated seats.  The 5 Speed Berg geared transmission and 2180 cc engine make it a blast to drive. When I bought it from Theron it had about 6100km on it, it now has 9300km.  Located in Burbank, CA.

Sold...I am the proud owner of this beautiful Intermeccanica!   I had been looking at the pictures daily and after a week of thinking about it, I called Victor to see if was still for sale.  There was someone who had already looked at it and was very interested.  Luckily for me, that didn’t work out and was able to purchase the car.

I flew out from North Carolina last Wednesday and had plans to meet Victor early on Thursday morning.  The car exceeded my expectations.  After finalizing the paperwork, I hopped in and drove it across the desert from Burbank to Phoenix to see family.  It was a great drive.  Had a smile on my face for 7 hours straight!  Other than a slight engine miss coming into Blythe ( which magically stopped after a minute), the car ran perfect!   The only casualty was a rock to the front left headlight lens cover, which is a cheap and easy fix.

I grew up with Volkswagens and drove a ‘66 bug through high school and college.  It is good to have an air cooled engine again.   The sound and smells bring back a lot of good memories.

I am now looking for a shipper to transport the car from Phx back to NC.  If anyone knows of a good enclosed transport company  please let me know.

I am looking forward to all the great resources on this site and the friendly banter!!!

-Chris

Hey gang,

Congratulations Chris!

To all the SOC folks out there, you’ve gained a addition into the SOC family.

For those out in the NC area, please reach out to Chris and let him know when events are nearby.

I mentioned to Chris that this SOC is an amazing, talented, funny group that enjoys a good time!

Chris has already spoke to Theron and Anthony while he was out here.

Help me in welcoming him to the madness!

Must be rock season.

After 25,000 miles, I lost my first headlight glass to a rock this weekend, too.

This was the rock from hell, though. Took out the cover glass, the H4 lamp unit behind it, AND the parking light bulb!

There was a half-inch-deep pile of pulverized glass chips the consistency of granular sugar behind the bucket, inside the fiberglass shell.

I found Zen meditation useful while reassembling the world's most overly complex headlight mount. And I finally figured out a trick way to hold that black rubber gasket (between the trim ring and body) in place while putting it all back in the car.

So, both a religious and a learning experience.

And oh, welcome to our zany little club, Chris. That is one fine car you've got there. I got a ride in it while the five-speed was being set up at Anthony's.

Sooo.... are you going to share this little tidbit with you Speedster brethren?

Great looking car, plenty of power and a 5 speed- you've got it all! And yes, Welcome To The Madness, Chris. Be warned, though, it's only just begun... Al
