Hey there,

Thanks for the info. I am up in Portland but come down to San Jose for
work often. Where you located?

I'd learn more about the car- year made, ownership history and so on.
Can chat via phone as well if easier for you. I am British car guy and
never owned a replica so a new experience for me.

Feel free to call or happy to call you.

Theron is the gentleman above selling the Titanium Silver JPS.

Sure JPS sells them turnkey, you'll just have to get in line. And then you'll have to sort out the mishaps yourself.

Or you could save a couple years and $,$$$ and buy a beautiful well-sorted JPS from Theron and spend the next couple years enjoying the twisty roads outside of PDX.

Think of the conversations you'll have over Christmas this year. You could be saying, "I am so excited, I am building a beautiful car that will be completed sometime between 2020 and 2024. Give or take, depending on availability, market trends or legal issues." Or you could be saying... "I'm so excited, I just bought a stunning JPS Speedster, want to go for a quick drive? It's so much fun!"

The happiest JPS owners are the ones who already drive a well-sorted JPS. In my experience, it's rare to find anyone else happy about their JPS decision. The search feature is your friend. The output can be spectacular, as long as you are patient and you want exactly what JPS wants to build you. Good luck.

I don't have a role, @Pdx356. Just a guy, enjoying his speedster, trying to help out where I can. Try sending Theron a private message (click his name above).

When I bought my car, I met Theron at his home in San Jose and he took me through everything and out for a test drive. And it gave me confidence dealing with a guy who had a reputation he liked keeping up. ~15k miles later and I'm a happy Speedster owner. Less time in the shop or waiting on the dream to be built. More miles, more smiles. If I had to replace my car with another I'd take the same route... I'd see what the Theron or Troy or a few others have on tap and pick the best. I don't have enough cars to be so patient as to wait years for another.

I regret that I have but one “like” to give this comment.

It ought to be made into some sort of decorative signage, trimmed with gold leaf, and hung in some place of prominence. Or perhaps tattooed across the chest of anyone who is ever had the (mis)fortune of dealing with John Steele (of JPS Motorsports).

If you seriously think about it.  Every builder has a scope of work that you can choose to select from but essentially that pallet of offerings is what you get.  It is normal but maybe the expectation or the illusion is hard to fully vocalize in a purchase contract.   Hence there is no real meeting of the minds and illusions and dreams are left incomplete.
