Hello friends,

I'm still looking for a 550 Spyder to have some fun with this summer and beyond. I'm checking eBay, BoT, Hemmings, etc. BHMotorcars has one but it's out of my price range with a new motor installed.

There's one on BoT currently(6/21/19), but it's in TX, a Seduction Motorsports build, looks pretty sweet with the Subie power and Martini livery:

Seeking certain must haves, but can be convinced otherwise:

- CA clean title and current reg, no DMV issues please

- Beck is #1, but I'm open

-1915cc or greater w/ dual carb setup, Subie water-cooled okay too

- open on color scheme inside and out.

- Recent service or evidence of average or better care and storage. Not looking for a full scale rehab project, but willing to invest in freshening up.

- willing to trade for a 2007 Beck Speedster, under 7k miles, w/CA title and full records. See my ad on the Speedster classified section.

Thanks!

Marcel

Marcel,

The Seduction Spyder wouldn’t be a bad car. Those are basically one of Greg Leach’s Vintage Motorcars Spyders that we’re finished by SM. Seduction made a lot of very nice billet parts that were installed on the cars that added a lot of nice detail to the cars. He would also finish the interiors etc for the final touch.

Greg, MIGHT, be able to give you some details on the car but I have no idea on what records he might have kept on the cars he sold to Seduction. If the price is right it would be a nice car to have.

@THERON, what I mean is Karl at BHM reports that has one, in his current inventory, with a new motor and trans installed, and it's 43000. My budget requires more of a pre-owned status.

However, I don't see it advertised online. At this point would just call him personally with my request.

I'd bit on the Seduction car in TX but I like to remain friends with the CA DMV

I would not fear the SB100 process for California. Greg and Outfront will likely have records of the sale. Or, contact the seller on BaT and see what records he has. That's a very nice looking Spyder.

I don't live in Cali so I've no experience with SB100. But from the guys who've gone through it on here and other forums, it doesn't look too daunting. Worst case scenario, wait until January when the next batch is open. At the beginning the 500 was gone in no time, but it doesn't look like that is an issue any more. Cheers.

@MarkA

SOLD! SOLD! SOLD! New owner of a Beck Spyder, sealed the deal on the Tuxedo Black 550 in SoCal. Owe you one dude. Just signed the paperwork and will pick up the Beck this weekend. Comes with lots of great history since being ordered in 1992. The plan is lots of upgrades and detailing ahead and very much deserved. Going to make a great winter project, will look forward to showing off the Spyder to y'all soon.
